Welcome to the Laybet calculator website. We have built all the tools you need to make your sports betting (and specifically your lay betting) experience better! Below we have a lay bet calculator and also some more information about lay betting in general.
- A lay bet is a process where, in making 2 separate transactions, a bettor can minimise risk and potentially maximise profit off an original bet. This technique can be used for a variety of reasons, including minimising risk when odds change, or to place qualifying bets with sportsbook in order to receive promotions in the future.
- The Odds is like a side bet in craps made after a point is thrown. It pays if the point is thrown before a seven. The odds on the Odds are exactly fair, which zero house edge. To be specific, the Odds pays 2 to 1 on points of 4 and 10, 3 to 2 on a 5 and 9, and 6 to 5 on a 6 and 8.
The vig for the Lay bet is the same as for the Buy bet. Let’s look at an example where you want to Lay a bet on the 8 for $60. If a 7 appears before an 8, you win $50 (i.e., the true odds are 6:5, so a winning $60 payoff is $50). Calculate the vig based on the $50 win amount. $50 x 5% = $2.50, which the casino rounds to only $2. Lay Bet Like the Buy bet, the Lay bet can be taken on any Point number and is a wager that 7 will come out before the Point. Again the odds on this bet are fair and as such the casino has no House Edge. The value to the casino comes from the 5% commission they charge.

What is a Lay Bet?
A lay bet is a process where, in making 2 separate transactions, a bettor can minimise risk and potentially maximise profit off an original bet. This technique can be used for a variety of reasons, including minimising risk when odds change, or to place qualifying bets with sportsbook in order to receive promotions in the future. All you need in order to use this system is a sportsbook to take your bet and a betting exchange to lay your bet off.

How does the Laybet calculator work?
Select the qualifying bet or free bet button and then enter your bet amount and odds. To maximise your outcome try to bet on events which have the closest odds at the bookie and exchange, for example betting Arsenal to win a match at 2.15 and laying the same outcome at 2.16 would guarantee only a very small overall loss. Laying the same outcome at 2.09 or lower would guarantee a small profit. When using an exchange you will usually be charged commission on any winnings, so enter that % charge too. If you have already placed a lay bet which covers part of the bet liability, enter the details in the part lay section. After hitting the calculate button you will see 3 sets of numbers. The standard match section will show you how much to lay at the exchange to ensure you come out with the same profit or loss regardless of the outcome of the event. That profit or loss is also calculated and shown as your 'overall position'.
